Trustees

Trustees bring skills in financial inclusion, social mobility, business leadership, mental health, and risk management. 

Together, the team’s experience in arts, engagement, fundraising, finance, governance, and safeguarding ensures the charity is responsive to needs, well run, agile, and robust.

Ayesha Begum

Ayesha has worked in the not-for-profit and charity sector for a number of years focussing on financial inclusion and social mobility. She currently works on projects related to strategy, systems change and social impact to create a fairer and more accessible financial services sector. Prior to this, she managed programmes assisting thousands of young people from low-income backgrounds to enter universities and access the professions. 

She also volunteers her time as Global Development Manager at a STEM-based organisation to engage and inspire young people into STEM related fields. 

Ayesha has lived in Crystal Palace for a number of years and is keen to use arts and local heritage to advance opportunities for the local community to come together through shared interests. As a trustee, she will support with volunteer management and associated engagement, policies and procedures related to this. 

Aoife Dawe

Chartered accountant with 12 years’ experience in finance and strategy roles across the Fast Moving Consumer Goods and retail sectors. She brings expertise in strategic planning, commercial finance, financial modelling, budgeting and risk management, supporting Invisible Palace with strong financial oversight and strategic guidance. Aoife has lived in Crystal Palace for three years and enjoys engaging with the local community through clubs and creative pursuits.

Catherine O'Connor

Senior Manager with broad experience within the arts, culture, and charity sectors, bringing risk management, leadership and strategic insight to support risk mitigation, organisational resilience, and enhancing community impact.

Mary Lines

Business leader with a Global services firm focused on mobilising, transforming and controlling the delivery of services contracts across industry bringing commercial experience and risk management skills to Invisible Palace.​​​​​​​

Sarah Patterson

Sarah has been in the retail sector for 20 years and spent the last 11 working for British Red Cross where she leads on policies, development and risk management. Sarah also champions well-being and diversity and as a student counsellor, endeavours to apply this lens to her corporate role to ensure policies and procedures are accessible and person centred. Social impact is close to Sarah’s heart particularly since the pandemic. Her role as a Trustee at Invisible Palace is to support and advise on policy and procedures and she is passionate about bringing the community together through shared interests.

Invisible Palace is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

Invisible Palace has been constituted since June 2015. It was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation by the Charity Commission on 7th March 2016, which is its legal date of foundation.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you:

  • Sign up for our newsletter
  • Sign up to volunteer with us
  • Sign up to be part of a project

Newsletter mailing list

As part of the subscription process for our newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information to:

  • Send you updates you have asked for
  • Contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information
  • Check that our records are correct

We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations or businesses.

We use a third-party provider, EmailOctopus, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us check and improve our communications.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms.

Volunteering

If you sign up to volunteer with Invisible Palace, we will hold some of your personal details so that we can stay in touch with you about volunteering opportunities.

In addition to contact details, we may store:

  • Your volunteering preferences
  • Relevant experience
  • Information relating to DBS checks (where appropriate)
  • Any other information you choose to share with us

This information will only be accessible to those managing volunteering activities and will not be shared further unless required by law.

We may use EmailOctopus to communicate with volunteers.

From time to time, Invisible Palace receives grant funding or sponsorship. As part of application and evaluation processes, we may share anonymised information with funders or partner organisations.

This may include aggregated statistics relating to events, volunteering, website use, or equal opportunities monitoring. This information will not identify you personally.

We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes.

How long do we keep your information?

We only keep your personal information for as long as necessary:

  • Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe
  • Volunteer data is kept for up to two years after your last involvement, unless there is a reason to retain it longer

We regularly review the information we hold and securely delete anything that is no longer required.
